Report barriers and facilitators for the implementation of school health promotion in Europe

SHE monitors school health promotion in our member countries. In September and October 2020, a survey was conducted among 24 of the 40 SHE member countries or regions. The aim of the survey was to assess the implementation of school health promotion and the formal Health Promoting School (HPS) approach in schools in the SHE member countries from the perspective of the SHE national coordinators. An overall report presents some of the highlights from the survey.

In December 2019, a mapping of the level of implementation of health promotion in schools in SHE member countries was done. Of the 37 SHE Member countries, 28 countries answered the online questionnaire (75.7%): Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, North Macedonia, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russian Federation, Slovenia, Switzerland, Uzbekistan, Wales (UK).
