How to become a SHE coordinator
Each member country of SHE has a national representative, called a national coordinator and these national coordinators play a central role in the SHE. They act as the official representatives of the member countries of SHE and each coordinator is preferably appointed by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health in her/his country. The national coordinator acts as the key person for SHE in the development of school health promotion in her/his country with a strategic position and an accepted status.
SHE national representatives are represented in the SHE board accordingly to SHE's Articles of Association. Election of the SHE board takes place during the general SHE Assembly meeting.
A national coordinator is caracterized by:
- having an in‐depth understanding, experience and active involvement in school health promotion in her/his country
- willingness to share her/his expertise and experience on school health promotion with her/his national network on school health promotion and SHE
It is possible for regional or subnational networks on health promoting schools to be a member of the SHE network foundation. This will support the further networking and exchange of school health promotion in the country and on a European and Central Asian level. A regional coordinator of SHE represents a region with a formally acknowledged network by the Regional Department/Ministry of Health and Education and acts as contact person for the region, in close collaboration with the SHE national coordinator of the country.
A regional coordinator is caracterized by:
- having a good understanding, experience and active involvement in school health promotion in her/his region
