New research paper about the setting approach to health promotion

A new research paper from 14 March 2019 by Lone L. Nordin, Didier Jourdan & Venka Simovska: (Re)framing school as a setting for promoting health and well-being: a double translation process.

The paper discusses how the setting approach to health promotion in schools is embedded in the Danish policy landscape and enacted at the local governance level. The results show that key principles of the setting approach to health promotion is integrated in the Danish curriculum for health education at national level. But at the municipal level the discourses of disease prevention and individual behaviour regulation has a higher priority than the treatment of schools as settings for promoting health and well-being.
