International meeting in Moscow

On 23. September 2020 the yearly meeting for National Coordinators from Eastern Europe and Central Asia (EECA) was held online and hosted by SHE Moscow Office.
Present was SHE, WHO and National Coordinators and representatives from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russian Federation, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

The situation with COVID-19 was disused intensively – e.g. the effects on schoolchildren based on school lock down, and how to implement qualified and effective initiatives to minimize the negative consequences on children’s health and wellbeing.
The SHE standards and indicators for Health Promoting Schools was introduced as well as the new SHE School Manual. Also, health literacy was disused as an important element to promote children’s and adolescent’s health and wellbeing.

SHE together with WHO and SHE Moscow Office offers face-to-face support to implement school health promotion in EECA countries. However, due to the COVID-19 situation travel has not been possible. We hope to be able to continue our support activities soon.
