Webinars on non-tobacco

On behalf of the WHO Health Promotion Department, you are invited to join two upcoming World No Tobacco Day 2021 campaign webinars being held on 10 and 16 March 2021 at 9:00 – 10:30 AM CET.

The harms of tobacco use are well-established. Tobacco causes 8 million deaths every year and when the news came out that smokers were more likely to develop severe disease with COVID-19 compared to non-smokers, it triggered millions of smokers to want to quit tobacco. Quitting can be challenging, especially with the added social and economic stress that have come as a result of the pandemic.

The World No Tobacco 2021 campaign aims to empower and support tobacco users on their journey to quit. Join the seminars to learn and discuss the key role health insurances play in tobacco cessation and how health professionals can become more engaged. Details are provided in the attached flyers.

Webinar 1: What can health insurances do for tobacco cessation?

Webinar 2: Health professionals’ role in tobacco cessation
